Join us right here in Seattle for a celebration of our fourth book, Flowers & Sky: Two Talks by Aaron Shurin. Aaron will be joined by Alex Vigue, whose debut chapbook, The Myth of Man, is forthcoming from Floating Bridge Press.
Flowers & Sky: Two Talks brings together two lectures and a suite of unpublished poems. These intimate talks use Shurin’s own work to illustrate the power and practice of image-making at the deepest level. Like other Entre Ríos books, this collection ships with an audio download of the poet reading the work.
Aaron Shurin is the author of twelve books of poetry and prose, most recently The Skin of Meaning: Collected Literary Essays and Talks by University of Michigan Press (2016) and Citizen by City Light Books (2012). A master of the prose poem, his career could be considered a love letter to San Francisco and the gay community there. His writing has appeared in over forty anthologies, and has been recognized by the National Endowment for the Arts, the California Arts Council, and the San Francisco Arts Commission, among others. He is the former Director of the MFA Writing Program at the University of San Francisco, where he is now Professor Emeritus.
Alex Vigue is a queer poet and storyteller from Washington State. He has a degree in creative writing from Western Washington University. Alex has been published in Vinyl, Maudlin House, and Lockjaw Magazine among others. His debut chapbook, The Myth of Man, is forthcoming from Floating Bridge Press.
