Erica McAlpine is Associate Professor of English and Fellow of St Edmund Hall at Oxford University. Her poems and translations have appeared widely in literary magazines in the United States and the United Kingdom, including Parnassus, Slate, the New Criterion, the Spectator, Literary Imagination, AGNI, the Yale Review, and the Times Literary Supplement. Her essays on poetry cover subjects from Romanticism to contemporary American poetry, and her own poetry is influenced in particular by Classical modes and forms. The poems in The Country Gambler, her first collection published in 2016, have been praised by the Times Literary Supplement as “intelligent and poised.” Poetry London called the book a “significant technical achievement.” Erica lives in Oxford with her husband Bruce, her four-year-old son Grant, and her two-year-old daughter May.
Maya Jewell Zeller is the author of the collaboration (with artist Carrie DeBacker) Alchemy for Cells & Other Beasts (Entre Rios, 2017), as well as two poetry collections, Yesterday, the Bees (Floating Bridge, 2015) and Rust Fish (Lost Horse, 2011). Recipient of a Promise Award from the Sustainable Arts Foundation and a Writer’s Residency from the H.J. Andrews Experimental Forest, Maya serves as Assistant Professor for Central Washington University. She lives in Washington State. Follow her on Twitter @MayaJZeller.
