Shannon Cleere is a visual artist living in Seattle, Washington, focused primarily on drawing.
Born to Irish parents, she grew up in Brazil and Indonesia. She moved to Washington State to attend The Evergreen State College where she pursued a Liberal Arts degree. She completed her BA in Florence, Italy where she focused on fresco restoration, art history, and Italian language. Recently she completed two years in the Core Drawing Atelier at Gage Academy of Art in Seattle. She loves to work on paper; playing with ink, watercolor, and pencil. Her work shifts between representational and abstract, isolating shapes and exploring shifts in value.
We are pleased to present a series of her work on the homelessness situation in Seattle in a new edition of James Thompson’s The City of Dreadful Night.
