Carolina Esses

Poet

Carolina Esses is a poet, novelist, and literary critic living in Buenos Aires, where she was born in 1974. Her poetry collections include Versiones del paraíso (Ediciones del Dock, 2017) and Temporada de invierno (Bajo la luna, 2009), which was shortlisted for the Olga Orozco Prize. Her poems have been featured in numerous anthologies and translated into French in Poésie Récente d’Argentine: une Anthologie possible (Reflet d’Lettres, 2013).

She is also the author of two novels, La melancolía de los perros (Bajo la luna, 2020) and Un buen judío (Bajo la luna, 2016). Additionally, she has published several books for children. As a literary critic, she contributes to La Nación newspaper. For fifteen years, she has worked for the Buenos Aires Public Libraries, where she leads creative writing workshops.
