J.W. Marshall‘s Meaning a Cloud received the Field Poetry Prize and was published by Oberlin College Press (2007).  His poems and essays have appeared in numerous publications. From 1995 to 2016, he and his wife, Christine Deavel, owned and operated Open Books, the poetry-only bookstore in Seattle.
