Kate Lebo

Poet

Kate Lebo is a constituent of Washington State’s Fifth District, represented in Congress by Cathy McMorris Rodgers. Her writing is anthologized in Best American Essays, Ghosts of Seattle Past, and Best New Poets, and her first collection of nonfiction, The Book of Difficult Fruit, is forthcoming from FSG in 2019. She is the author of Pie School: Lessons in Fruit, Flour, and Butter (Sasquatch Books) and A Commonplace Book of Pie(Chin Music Press), and co-editor ofPie & Whiskey: Writers Under the Influence of Butter and Booze(Sasquatch Books),an anthology of work from the Pie & Whiskey Reading Series she founded with Samuel Ligon. She lives in Spokane. Through theWashington Center for Cultural Traditions’ Arts Heritage Apprenticeship program, she is an apprenticed cheesemaker to Lora Lea Misterly ofQuillisascut Farm.
