Virginia Gauna Torres

Artist

Virginia Gauna Torres is a photographer and painter living in Buenos Aires, where she was born in 1970. After obtaining a degree in architecture from the University of Buenos Aires, she shifted her focus to art and photography, with a particular interest in abstraction in nature and architecture.

She studied photography at Inés Miguens’s Photo School and continued her training at Diego Ortiz Mugica’s School of Photography. Her photographs have been featured in several group exhibitions, most recently at Galería Virtual Contemporánea, Buenos Aires, and Cocrear Fotografía, Galería del Infinito, Buenos Aires. Her previous publications include Entrelíneas and Ausencia (2020), as well as Naturaleza Mínima, a project curated by Laura Casanovas (2021).

She is currently working on Proyecto Cocrear, an itinerant photography exhibition curated by Vivian Galbán, which will be hosted at the Argentine Library of Congress, BA, in October 2023.
